My Recent Presentation at the DC History Center!
Following the publication of my children's book, I had the honor of being invited by Ms. Vanessa Williams, Education Manager at the DC History Center, to present at their annual educators conference!
During the session, I led a read-aloud of the book for a group of wonderful, passionate educators. It was an incredible opportunity to introduce them to Carpe Classica and walk them through the custom educational resources I’ve developed. To make the material as useful as possible for local classrooms, I tailor-made worksheets and lesson plans specifically designed to align with the DC Public Schools social studies standards.
Presenting at the conference was a fantastic way to connect directly with teachers and history enthusiasts who share a real passion for bringing historical connections to life for young students. Hearing their feedback firsthand reinforced my excitement to scale this book into a much larger educational project that reaches classrooms across the region and beyond.
This entire journey has been a deeply rewarding experience, and none of it would have been possible without my brilliant illustrator, whose incredible artwork truly brought the story and its characters to life!
